This is a recap of last night's Monday Night football game, in which the Steelers beat the Texans 30-23.
The Steelers were outgained in the game overall and outgained in yards per play as well, but thanks to some Keystone Cops play in the final 3 minutes of the first half, the Steelers were able to grab momentum on their way to a much needed win.
Houston really won 57 minutes of that game. It really was a comedy of errors for Houston right before the half.
Interesting to note that teams that win their 4 game in game 7 have a 55% chance of making the playoffs, while teams that drop to 3-4 in their 7th game have a less than 20% chance of making the playoffs.
Maybe the Texans should have been conservative right before the half, especially after their first two mistakes were made. Steve though can't fault a team for being aggressive in that spot.
Going forward we note that Pittsburgh still has no real pass rush and the defense as a hole is not all that great. It is an aging defense that just doesn't have a quick fix coming. The Steelers have played 7 below average offenses thus far and that makes the defensive struggles even more troubling.
The offense has a solid running game, but no real down the field passing threat.
For Houston they are very close to have a 5-2 record instead of a 3-4 record and really if they had a NFL quality starting QB then they could very well be 5-2 right now.
