In today's Betting Buzz, Andy, Scott and Steve look at the increased Penalties in the NFL, plus look at negativity in the CFB world.
The goal of the new rules are to get the defensive players a bit farther away from the receivers, which will obviously help the offenses. The league is trying to create more offense as it increase Fantasy football viewership and merchandise sales, along with ticket sales.
On rule that Andy would like changed is the the automatic first down that comes with the 5 yards defensive holding penalty unless it is on 3rd down.
Scott feels that it will settle down in the regular season. the refs right now are showing the way it should be called and teams will adjust, plus some high profile coaches are thinking that allot of these calls are really bad.
They switch to some CFB talk and discuss betting OU Win Totals.
Andy feels that the situation in Ohio State with Braxton Miller and in Notre Dame with the possible suspensions that this is a reason why you should look at more Under when betting Win totals early. Its easier for negative events on a team to take place than positive events.
Scott feels that the Buckeyes can still win 10 games without Miller, thanks to their schedule, but they may not be a national title team.
