RJ Bell started a great topic asking the pro 'cappers to share what makes football betting special. I'd like to open that topic to everyone who wants to contribute. I find you usually do something better when you have passion and I certainly have passion for the NFL. I know many others do, too.
Growing up in Wisconsin during the 1960s, like I did, you couldn't but help grow a huge passion for the NFL and the GREEN BAY PACKERS under Vince Lombardi.
It's not a cliché but an accurate statement to say the Packers were and are a religion. It was a real privilege to go to Packer games with my dad and watch them on TV during the Lombardi era with Ray Scott doing the play-by-play. I can still hear Scott's voice saying, "Starr back to throw. Has time. Dowler. That will be a touchdown."
Lombardi transcended football. I still try to follow the values and principals he installed such as always giving your full effort, never playing dirty while respecting your opponent and getting to places not only on time, but 10 minutes ahead of schedule.
There's a perception that Lombardi said, "Winning isn't everything. It's the only thing." He never said that. What he did say, "Winning isn't everything. But the effort to win is." There's a huge difference.
I've tried to lead my life following that quote. It certainly applies to handicapping. I'm not going to win every game. I'm not going to gain perfection. Not even close. I know that. But that will never stop me from always giving my fullest effort and in the pursuit of perfection hopefully I can catch sustained excellence.
On the handicapping front, I cashed my Run Line Game of the Month on Wednesday with the Brewers beating the Rays by five runs. I am 4-1 during the last five days, up close to 8 units during this span. I have an early game discounted MLB play going today and a Triple Star CFL play on Friday. I am 9-3 on my last 12 Triple Stars, 2-0 on my CFL Triple Stars. My season football season package is available, too, at a special limited time discount price. I have turned a profit during 18 of the last 20 years in the NFL. My plays and packages can be found on my home page at /pregamepros/pro-bettor/bettor.aspx?id=7746#capper.
As always, no bad luck!
