According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Sanchez finished practice 6-for-11 with three interceptions in 15 snaps. Smith finished 3-for-10 with one interception in 14 snaps. Both players were "sacked" once, in Wednesday's practice...I see the Jets' going 3 - 13 or 4 - 12 as far as wins ....this is a franchise that needs to start from stratch

Anyone want to stake me in the LVH Super Contest?

I was thinking it would work like this:

-You register (my understanding is it has to be in person). The entry will be named 'DubV'.

-You pay the entry fee and arrange for a proxy to enter the picks (or if you are in Vegas you can enter them yourself).

-I decide what all the selections will be.

-We split all profits 50/50

It's time for Joe Namath to shut up. Namath, who last played for the Jets in 1976, said his old team should stick with Mark Sanchez as their quarterback.

Geez, I thought Namath was a loyal Jets fan.

“No, I don't think they (the Jets) needed a quarterback,” Namath was quoted as saying by the New York Daily News.

The Jets drafted Geno Smith with the 39th overall choice. A lot has come out following the draft that is not flattering about Smith, but it's hard to say the Jets didn't get value with that pick.

It doesn't take too much to improve on Sanchez, who not only is the most inaccuarte quarterback in the NFL but also has committed the most turnovers during the past two years with a combined 52.

Joe, forget Mark Sanchez. Go back to slobbering over Suzy Kolber.

Michael Crabtree out for the season

It looks like Crabtree will have season ending surgery after suffering a torn Achilles on Tuesday. This makes me question how much it will hurt Kaepernick in his first full season as the starting quarterback. Does anyone else think that this could cause the 49ers to not win the division this year?? Seahawks look real strong, Rams are improved, & with a new QB along with last year's Coach of the year, the Cardinals may not be just a welcoming matt.

I was listening to "The Herd" today, on ESPN Radio, and interestingly, he and a guest, a ex punter in the NFL, were agreeing that Ray Guy, who punted for the old Oakland Raiders, should be in the NFL Hall of Fame. While I was too young to have watched Ray Guy punt, I certainly watched films of him, read his stats and read comments made by his college (Southern Mississippi) and NFL Coaches, and players who watched and played with and against Ray Guy. I could not agree more with their position. Nobody really seems to be able to come up with a valid reason, why this Raider great, has never been inducted into The NFL Hall of Fame. Can you think of any reason why, or perhaps know why?

Of all the sports I wager on, (football, baseball and basketball) both Pro and College football are two I never stop investing my time in studying. I will, from time to time, give you a very brief opinion as I wade through my never ending process of preparing myself for the upcoming football season (both NFL and College).

Sometimes I will be very brief like today, and other times I will get into more detail.

I'm just finishing looking at the Denver Broncos for this upcoming season. This team of Broncos is my selection for winning their Division, and unless something completely unspeakable happens, this won't change. Last year, considering it was a "First Look" for the Broncos in so many ways, they certainly presented themselves as a team to be reckoned with this upcoming year.Unless the odds seem like they will go lower, I'm waiting no longer. I will wager asap on the Denver Broncos to win their Division. That means a trip to Vegas for me, as I will make a big enough wager that calls for me to make the journey, even if its just to make that wager. Hopefully, I can come up with a few other props to wager on, which would only save me time and the number of trips I will make before both Pro and College football begin.

I just joined Pregame and I really enjoy the countless reasons why its the place to visit, particularly if you are a serious player. Great job Pregame.com

Having great individuals does not always make a great side but the Brazilians have won more World Cups than any other nation. They stand at 5 wins, with Italy in 2nd place with four. But they’ve also played in a number of finals where they’ve been beaten, most recently in 1998 against the host nation France. Winning, however, isn’t the only thing, it’s winning with style that matters to Brazilians. The World Cup win in 1994 was a triumph but was not won in Brazilian attacking flair and flamboyance. The 1982 side of Zico and Socrates, that were foiled by Italy, probably bring more of a misty eyed response than the side that were victorious in the USA.

The 2014 finals will be a celebration of football. The fans will embrace it and produce a carnival of colour, noise and passion that the local people are already world famous for. It will be a fantastic world cup to travel to and see how the Brazilians party. It will have been 64 years since the last world cup was held in Brazil and those who were alive to see it will hope that it doesn’t end the same way. The hosts were beaten in the final by South American rivals Uruguay. Anything less than a win will send the country into mourning, but a victory will spark the biggest party Brazil has ever seen and that in itself would be saying something.
