This is my sixth of eight installments giving a quick prediction on each NFL division. Today: NFC East.
1. Eagles - Chip Kelly is that rare real deal college coach who has made a big splash in the NFL. The Eagles aren't in the class of the Seahawks, 49ers, Saints and Packers, but they clearly are the best of what has become a weak division.
2. Giants - To be honest, I don't have a clue here. It wouldn't shock me if the Giants won this division, or finished last. I am a Tom Coughlin fan and believe Eli bounces back with a new offensive coordinator and stronger offensive line play. The defense can become good again with a return to form of Jason Pierre-Paul and Mathias Kiwanuka.
3. Redskins - I'm glad Mike Shanahan is gone. I'll never forgive him for potentially jeopardizing Robert Griffin III's career with that playoff loss two seasons ago. I would have liked to have seen the Redskins name Jon Gruden head coach not Jay Gruden. Griffin should be back to form and has a lot of weapons. The Redskins should be able to rush the passer, too, with Jason Hatcher joining Brian Orakpo and Ryan Kerrigan.
4. Cowboys - The defense is horrendous and Tony Romo may start slipping. He's 34 and off back surgery. I can't see the Cowboys keeping up with the offenses of the Eagles and Redskins. I also don't think much of Dallas' brain trust.
On the handicapping front, I have my July Underdog Game of the Month going today. It's my first Triple Star sides play in a week. I am 8-3 on my last 11 Triple Stars and 48-33-2 on my last 83 Triple Stars. The play can be found in the picks section and on my home page here: /pregamepros/pro-bettor/bettor.aspx?id=7746#capper.
As always, let's have no bad luck!
