The New York Giants and Buffalo Bills are going to kick of the NFL season August 3rd. The game will be played in Canton, Ohio at Fawcett Stadium. Hall of Fame week is a great week not only for the fans of football, but also for the families of those football players who will be inducted. This years class will be Andre Reed, Micheal Strahan, Aeneas Williams, Walter Guy, Derrick Brooks, Walter Jones, and Claude Humphrey.
A great moment for the NFL will be this years coin toss. Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly will have the honors of tossing the coin. Kelly was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002, but since then has had to battle for his life as he has gone through extensive radiation to treat cancer. It will be great to see the long-time Buffalo Bills QB on the field once again to open up the season.
The highlight player of this class will be Micheal Strahan. Andre Reed may give the best speech after all is said and done. Andre Reed was a big part of the Buffalo offense when Jim Kelly was the QB for all of the super bowl runs. They have a great relationship and i'm sure Reed will deliver a powerful speech.
If i had the chance to get a ticket or seat to this event, I'd trade it for any season ticket game i had. How can you beat going to an event with the star power and messages that will be heard on Aug 2nd. I don't believe you can.
**As for the game the Buffalo Bills are 0-3 in Hall of Fame games. The New York Giants actually opened up the first Hall of Fame game in 1962. They are 2-1-1. Yes the first game was a tie.
Looking at both teams in this matchup i really try to focus on the teams depth chart and the amount of time the 1st, 2nd and 3rd units have actually played together. It's work for sure, but if u can find a team that has had pieces together for a good time Vs. a team who has little knowledge of each other, it can provide value when looking at a side in pre-season.
I think the total can provide great value in preseason as well.
Buffalo -1 & 32.5 according to some outs on Pregame.com odds feed.
Coaching can give us the biggest advantage at a wager in preseason. Some coaches care and some don't about winning. Some like to get the players the reps needed and really try to pick apart who they may need to fill holes on the roster. Most teams with a core stability will look to iron out wrinkles and rust. Let's take Seattle coach Pete Carroll has a knack for wanting to win preseason games. He is 8-0 the last two preseason's.
I will dig into this game further and will have a play on this soon.
*Here is one speech i liked from Deion Sanders .....enjoy !
