Its absurd to think that airlines care less about there customers than some bureaucrat in Washington.

The TSA is an agency of force, not the free market, they are inefficient, corrupt, and operate by taxing the free market transactions of free citizens.

Throw a few hundred million dollars at something for a decade and your sure to find some knives and such, but again its absurd to think the airlines themselves and the free market solutions to these problems would be worse than the Gov. The airlines would have found all of these "threats" and probably hundreds more given back the resources the TSA stole from them and there customers.

Bad people do bad things, that cant be stopped, in a world of 7 billion there will be some bad eggs, the question is how best to deal with everyone else who is not a bad egg, not how to punish everyone in the feeble search for the bad eggs by the most corrupt and inefficient entity in existence.

Terrorist are not successful if we don't fear them.  Shaking down grandma calms my fears and despite what you think about flying the facts are no hijackings since TSA and more people flying each year. So in your world its best to let a few planes go down do to the bad eggs and that's just the price of being free? 

If anyone should be pissed off about the full body scanners it should be me and my micro **** but I don't give a shit if someone sees a digitized image of me for brief second if it lowers the chance of planes being hijacked.

It seems to me that A. Smith might have some mental health issues on top of whatever substance issues he may have. Some things you just don't joke about at an airport (sensible people anyway).Yes, terrorists have screwed up air travel for everyone but there are people out there (if you still want to consider them people) who would use a plane to kill as many as they can. Unfortunately, that's the state of the world we know today.

Didn't the underwear bomber attempt to blow up a plane going through Detroit Metro airport? Was he considered a terrorist?

I don't think anyone would be surprised if we eventually learn Smith is suffering from some sort of mental illness caused by head trauma from playing football and his condition contributed to his delinquency. I'm not saying Smith shouldn't be held accountable for his actions but sometimes I wonder if old school journalists like Nover take that into account before writing things like this.
