That's the only way to make this right - bottom line, end of story. The NFL needs to conduct itself with honor & integrity and assume some fundamental responsibility for the EGREGIOUS (irrefutable) error made at 0:00 (not to mention the countless others in this game, and other games since the start of the season). There HAS TO BE a veto mechanism in place to address matters such as these which allows the league to OVERRULE the officiated outcome of a game in matters of GROSS NEGLEGENCE on the final play of a given game - EVEN IF the NFL rulebook has to be rewritten/amended to correct a matter such as this - period.
The NFL was GROSSLY negligent for NOT amending the rulebook to allow for vetoing/overruling the poorly trained, incompetent, scab officials. ALL CALLS of Pass Interference (or calls of greater significance) should be subject to review and OVERULE by the trained folks in the booths upstairs - PERIOD. This isn't the NHL, or MLB with 10-zillion games in a season. These teams only have 17 games in their season, and the result of each carries a profound impact on that team for the rest of their season.
That said, it would not be fair to strip Seattle of a win at this point, but that takes a back seat to ALSO crediting a win to Green Bay which is the higher priority. BOTH teams should walk away with a 2-1 record after this match, and Seattle should count themselves lucky for being allowed to retain a win which 100%, irrefutably & unarguably was not theirs (and this doesn't even take into account the 2 (TWO) offensive pass interference calls that were not called on them on that final drive which had a significant impact on the outcome of the game as well).
The incompetence of the NFL is downright baffling...a lot of people need to be fired there. First to go would be the morons with the power to amend the rulebook (prior to the scab officials taking over) who failed to do so...
P.S. Should sic this guy on the NFL & the replacement refs...
lol well said, but i mean its nothing more than a misinterpretation i would think. seems like they didnt overturn the call because of simultaneous catch, not crazy about that no call on the pi, my feeling is goal line judge who was right in front of that, probably was so focused on the ball that he had to have missed that push as opposed to thinking it was a flop and not calling it, but watching replay after replay that was a harder push than what i first saw.
nfl could care less i would think about the ref problems, people will still go to games, watch it on tv, buy merchandise and gamble on it. just a matter who will budge first and with the nfl getting it from all over, doesn't look like they will budge first in my small opinion.
Ive watched twice.
lol and ps i agree F*** the NFL
