It was a rough one yesterday but I did go 2-1 in my 4 and 5 units plays. Sometimes when things are rough you look for the positives to keep the confidence up. Well over the weekend I did go 5-1 in my plays rated 4 or higher combined between CFB and the NFL and last night I did finish 1-0-1 with a win on my teaser and a push on the total. Let's make it a 3-0-1 end to the week with two winners tonight.

Denver/ Atlanta Under 52: Let's get a couple trends out of the way first. Denver is 9-1 UNDER in their first 4 games of the season if off a SU & ATS win, while Atlanta is 9-1 UNDER at home with an OU line of 46 or higher the last 3 years. Both teams put up plenty of points in game 1, but both teams were going up against opponent that were missing some key personnel on defense. Atlanta used their new no-huddle attack to perfection but now there is some film on it and that should allow Denver to gameplan for it a bit better. The Falcons on defense struggled to stop the run, allowing 152 yards to the Chiefs and I expect Denver to exploit that, which will in turn keep the Falcons offense on the sidelines. Denver did use the no-huddle at times vs Pittsburgh and they did put up 31 points, but 7 of those were off an INT returned for a TD while another was on a long 80+ yard strike. Denver will go back to their methodical work the ball down the field offense and that will eat clock. On defense the Broncos had a bunch of missed tackles, but that is something they can and will clean up during the week. For the most part vs Pitt their players were in the right spots, just didn't wrapped up all too well. Atlanta will use their no-huddle attack again, but I feel the Broncos can slow it down with both their defense and a deliberate ball control offense. Look for at most 45 points in this one.

Jeff, just a question for you, are you giving these trends out as a "cool stat" to have people look at or do you actually use these for handicapping purposes?
Thanks guys and BOL to you as well.
Backroads--- Trends and angles are a compliment to the play I like. I don't just use a trend to make a play. there has to be other factors as well. I do use them as PART of the handicapping process. Plenty of times i have seen a 15-0 or an 0-15 trend on a game, but have still gone the other way or not even made a play on the game because the others factors didn't go the way of the trend. I like them yes, but not only way for making a pick on a game.
GOOD LUCK JEFF!!
