"(day=Sunday or day=Monday) and p:week+2 = week and p:week+2 = L "
can you translate what this text means? Its 0-15 ATS and 3-14 O/U but idk what it even means lol
This is actually bad SDQL text. When the L is by itself it is telling the computer to only include in the CURRENT game. It is not surprising that teams that lose are in an 0-15 ATS spot.
I guessing that the desired query is:
(day=Sunday or day=Monday) and p:week+2 = week and p:L
This translates as: the team in playing on Sunday or Monday, they are off a bye and they lost their last game.

ha ok, i figured it was something like that. thanks for clearing that up
Jzovas, If you send me a private message at the university (emeyer@bw.edu), I can send you a pdf of our 2012 NFL Handicapping Bible -- which extensively features the SDQL text. That should really get you going with the SDQL.

The Panthers are 12-0 ATS (+10.8 ppg) in franchise history when they are hosting a team that has averaged at least one turnover per game and at least 375 yards offense per game season-to-date.
team=Panthers and H and oA(TY)>=375 and oA(TO)>1.0
Last season the Panthers nearly upset the Saints in the spot. Brees threw a TD with under a minute left in the game to earn a 30-27 win as a six-point favorite.
SDQL hint: The averaging feature of the SDQL is very powerful and can be used for ANY parameter. That is tA(o:PY) will give the team's average season-to-date passing yards allowed per game. Similarly, oA(sacks) will give the opponent's average number of sacks per game season-to-date.
In the above query, TY is total yards and TO is turnovers.

The Bengals are 0-18 ATS (-10.7 ppg) since 1995 when they are off a road game in which they were whistled for at least four more penalties than their opponent and had fewer than three takeaways.
team=Bengals and p:A and p:penalties-po:penalties>=4 and po:TO<3 and season>=1995
SDQL Hint: To get at the number of takeaways a team had, you need to look at how many turnovers their opponent committed. So:
po:TO<3
translates as "the number of turnovers committed by the team's previous opponent was less that three." That is, the team had fewer than three takeaway in their last game.

The Lions are 0-11 ATS (-6.4 ppg) since January 2005 when they are off any game as a 4-plus point favorite.
team=Lions and p:line<=-4 and 20050101<=date
7/28/2012
The Vikings are 0-22 ATS (-10.9 ppg) since 1989 when they are off a 14-plus point win in which they had fewer than three sacks, as long as they were not a double-digit favorite in both the previous game and this game.
team=Vikings and p:margin>=14 and p:sacks<3 and (p:line>-10 or line>-10) and season>=1989
Note that the word "or" can be used in combination with the word "and" in the SDQL.
7/29/2012
The Lions are 19-0 OU (+10.2 ppg) since October 2000 when they are off a game in which they punted at least seven times and held their opponent to fewer than 20 points.
team=Lions and po:points<21 and p:punts>=7 and 20001001<=date
7/30/2012
The Texans are 10-0 ATS (+12.0 ppg) since October 2002 as a dog when they are off a road game in which they stopped their opponent on at least two-thirds of their third down attempts and forced more than five punts. The SDQL text is:
team=Texans and po:3DP<33 and p:A and D and po:punts>5 and 20021001<=date
SDQL hint: 3DP is "third down percentage"
7/31/2012
The Falcons are 10-0 ATS (+7.2 ppg) since November 17, 2002 as a favorite when they committed fewer turnovers than their opponent in each of their last three games.
team=Falcons and F and ppp:TOM<0 and pp:TOM<0 and p:TOM<0 and 20021117<=date
SDQL Hint: TOM stands for turnover margin.
