Just plain sad these guys make millions and blow it on cribs and Escalades all blinged out, flying around in lear jets with buddies , partying inVegas and dropping $5000 a night at a strip joint...unreal.  I do not care what color or race they are....90% of all these Pro Sports guys end up damn near broke....

It is too bad pro Sports does not mandate them 8 hours a year to attend a class on investing and money managament and advise them to hold down the hangers - on (Entourage who take a salary ) and have sound financial people in each city that the team is located as contacts to talk to who are professionals and can help manage their money and provide some insight.

I read Latrell Spreewell is dead broke with like 9 kids from 6 different chicks..child supported himself to the poor house...unreal....

Yep unfortunately most of these athletes are African American who come from the "hood" so they feel like they have to take care of all their buddies and put them on "their" payroll. Case in point MC Hammer who had a entourage of like over 100 ppl or Mike Tyson who was known to pay some idiot over 100k a year to scream Tyson's name when entering the ring. Most of them get hooked on gambling look at Antoine Walker who owes over 400k to several casino's or Charles barkley who owed the Wynn over 700k, Allen Iverson spent millions on jewelry and his "entourage" it's sad! really sad that these guys haven't learned from any of the other athletes mistakes. Lebron is known to have a bottle service bill of over 200k in Vegas!! I believe you can find the copy of the receipt via google.

there was NBA player the other day that dropped 10k on the lotto when it was 600 mill+..said if he did not spend there it would have been spent on strip club visit,lol...he will be broke one day too.

they think the money will last forever..lot of em coast thru high school then if one and done in college they dotn have to learn anything....every pro league should have at least full day seminar on finances...at the least they would get some knowledge and up to them what to do with it.

at the minimum they would be warned they CAN go broke

Bankruptcy fraud charges will follow soon.  He claims he lost his super bowl and ncaa championship rings.  Does that sound plausible to anyone?  The 250 pairs of Jordans were a good investment.  Deadbeat ghetto trash.

TG I dont think that  that is a pro sports league job to give a pro athlete that type of access on their dime. If anything the Player's Union is at fault for that. It isn't the NFL's job to give Sapp or any other player a financial rep in each city.

Let's talk about the college for a second. Anyone remember when Dexter Manley admitted he couldn't read. He said " i carried the NYTimes every day so people would think Im smart". I believe he was retired or close to retiring. How in the hell did he ever attend 1 class, not sure if he graduated, at Oklahoma State and was ILLITERATE! I could never figure out why the NCAA didnt investigate??

It comes down to common f%$#ing sense! You make a lot of $$$. Lots of clinger's want access to you because of that.  You have a short window to make the big bucks. Act like you got a clue and if nothing else save your $$$ and wear a freakin condom.
