At this current moment, it's a three way argument IMO between the Browns, 49ers, and the.... Jets (Maybe throw in the Rams, if you'd like). Yes, I am super down on the Jets. I think the lack of talent this team has on par with the 49ers, but I do like the Shanahan hiring a lot. If you look at this Jets roster.. you don't see much hope for next season
QB- Nobody has an idea. Some rumors it could be Cutler or Glennon. Cutler is an average quarterback who needs a strong supporting cast, and Glennon is a below average quarterback IMO. Both will end up being 1 year stop gaps, despite what their contract says IMO.
RB- Forte is getting long in the tooth, but Powel did show some promise. Both runners aren't good enough to make up for a bad offensive line, and are better out in space catching the ball.
WR- The team lost Brandon marshall, and Eric Decker will likely miss time up until training camp (or could be released). Anderson and enunwa showed a little promise, but its still a below average core that needs strong QB play.
TE- Worst TE situation in the league past few years. Don't even have anybody worthwhile mentioning.
OL- The OLine was not Good last year. Now, they are down 3 starters, who were also the leaders in the room (Giacomini, Clady, Mangold). One of the leagues worst OLines.
DL- Very good. Will probably trade Sheldon Richardson, who's a stud player. Wilkerson didn't play great coming off his injury, so keep an eye on his play early in the season. Leonard Williams is a good player, while Mcclendon is serviceable.
LB- Jets have lacked an outside pass rush for years. They finally got some speed in their inside linebacking corps with Darron Lee, but the position as a whole is poor.
Secondary- A mess. The Jets may not have one starting caliber corner on the roster. Gilchrist played solid for them, but tore his patellar tendon, a devestating injury. Pryor is a box safety who needs to benefit from having a rangy free safety next to him.
Coaching- Bowles lost the locker room last year, and could be a lame duck coach. The Jets also downgraded at OC IMO, losing creative mind Chan Gailey for an unproven Saints WR coach Morton.
This team is going to be bad next year, and it seems like they are acknowledging it, by cutting all their veterans. Could end up being some value on this teams season win total next year. In my opinion, they could end up being the leagues least talented roster. We will see what free agency and the draft brings..
