Happy Thursday to all and welcome to Week Six in the NFL.
A nice AFC West match up this evening that has produced some great contests over the years as once again, The Denver Broncos square off with The San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm. The Chargers have been quite a hard luck team this season and truly could be 5-and-0 if they did not continue to just seemingly work hard to find a way to lose games in the end. Oddly enough, they have held the lead in their first five games for more time than anybody else in the NFL, except I believe for The Patriots.
That being said, I am siding with The Broncos this evening. I believe it does say something about The Chargers and their hard luck - maybe it says that they are not that good. Not long ago I was saying that they are good but have been snake bit. Now my thinking has shifted as when things like this become more of a pattern rather than just a trend, you have to reevaluate your assessment.
On the other side, Denver is indeed good club with an excellent defense. Siemian will get the start and while I didn't think it would make much difference last week, I was proven wrong. Paxton Lynch is not ready yet as evidenced and Siemian has been very efficient in his starts, all wins.
I think the price is right here and I don't believe you could make the line much different.. maybe 3.5 at the most. However, I feel that the better team is going to show itself here tonight and that The Chargers may just give us more reason to believe that their problems are not all hard luck.
Finally, speaking of trends, The Broncos own the ledger here in this regard as they have won 15-straight division road games and in those games, are 14-and-1 ATS. The Chargers have lost 10-straight division games and are 0-and-5 SUATS at home the last five times hosting Denver.
I'll take The Broncos -3 here tonight for our Football Freebies!
