3-2 week after a pathetic 1-4 start.. Still recommend playing these for at the most half of a unit for what ou put on a regular game.. Will add analysis as the week goes on, wanted to get this out early.. Back to full internet access on Thursday!
49ers PK -120
- San Fran will have the far superior QB depth chart in this game. Colin Kaepernick( Dom Capers killer) will be given his shot to win the starting job, and the 49ers starters should be out on the field with both quarterbacks for the entire first half. Third string QB Christian Ponder is nothing special as a starter, but is a far superior backup QB then Joe Callahan or Marquise Williams. Packers backup QB Brett Hundley is once again out, and Aaron Rodgers has said he will "probably play", but very likely will not play much. in last years dress rehearsal preseason game, Rodgers did not play at all against Chip Kelly's eagles. All Kelly's offense did was score 46 points against the Packers D that game. 49ers are the very clearly more motivated side and the team that is trying to win the game and score points.. The packers have clearly shown they are more concerned with getting out of the game injury free.
Chargers/Vikings Under 41.5 -110
- Both teams have not cleared a total of 41.5 in their two games this preseason, and I don't expect it here. Vikings QB teddy bridgewater is expected to play, but has a shoulder injury and may play less then he normally would. Bridgewater is a short and intermediate passer who doesn't look to throw down the field often even when he is 100% healthy. Vikings backup Shaun Hill is even more prone to check downs then Teddy is, so I don't expect a ton of deep passes in this meaningless game. The Chargers have one of the worse backup quarterback rotations in the league in Clemens, Mettenberger, and Bercovici, and it's shown this preseason, as the Chargers have only scored 14 points per game. Phillip Rivers is a hell of a QB but the Vikings defense is on the verge of being elite, and I don't know if McCoy will leave Rivers in for a substantial amount of time, especially with DJ Fluker injured for this game. Mike Zimmers defenses have been excellent in the preseason and I expect that trend to continue, and I also expect a conservative gameplan from the Vikings to protect Teddy Bridgewater.
