PIT @ SD -4
Remove QB's out of the equation and I believe the Steelers have a much more talented roster than San Diego. But there's a huge difference between Vick and Rivers. Rivers is one of the better QB's in the league, he's getting his favorite target Gates back for this one, and the O-line should at least be slightly stronger as Watt and Fluker are returning. (They'll still be without Dunlap and Franklin). Shazier will miss another game for the Steelers, and he's one of their better LB's.
On the other side you have Vick, who averaged 5.1 PY/A last week and a QBR of 14. I know with 10-days to prepare you would assume he'll play better, but let's not forget that in 10 games with the Jets last year, Vick averaged 5.0 PY/A with a QBR of 21. Maybe he's at the point of his career where 'preparation' won't make much of a difference. Pittsburgh will also be without Martavis Bryant again, who was not activated by the team. Keep in mind that San Diego will have both their starting CB's in Flowers and Verrett for this one, as both missed time with injuries already this season.
I do believe that San Diego is a bit inflated in this game, but without Roethlisberger it's tough to back Pittsburgh on the road. To me this game is an easy pass tonight. If I had to make a play, I'd look to taking UNDER First Half in this one, as neither team has much of an explosive deep threat component on their roster, and I'd expect a number of time-consuming drives focused on running the ball.
Good Luck
