Teddys number one takeaway this week in the NFL was that Must Win teams don't always win.
New Orleans and Baltimore were in must win situations and they really didn't show up for their games. The Colts were not a must win team, but they also didn't show up for the game, which was priced competitively.
RJ Wants to discuss the Colts/ Cowboys game, which had a big disagreement on their weekly Podcast by Steve and Dave, who felt this was a very important game from the Colts, while Fezzik did not.
The Money did come in on Dallas through the week, but was more or less injury related money and not because of motivation.
Back to must win teams. RJ Asks Teddy for some general handicapping tips when it comes to judging late season motivation. RJ feels that teams in mus win vs non-must win teams are generally overpriced and Teddy agrees with him.
Yesterday's Bills/ Raiders was a good example. Bills had to win to stay in the playoff picture, but that just didn't happen as the Raiders won outright.
Must win teams are generally a team that the Public will get behind and if you play those teams then play them early, and if you want to fade those teams then fade them late.
A couple scenarios for the coming week is that Houston is home to Jacksonville and the Texans must win this game to keep slim Playoff hopes alive. Cleveland is at Baltimore which still needs to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Both teams are priced high in their games.
