In today's Big Conversation, Scott, Andy and Steve Discuss the Adrian Petersen subject.... Again.
This past weekend another incident involving Adrian Petersen and Child Abuse came to light and that prompted the Vikings to again de-activate Adrian Petersen, after they reactivated on Monday morning.
Can the NFL learn from mistakes. What is wrong with waiting till more facts are known, before forgiving or punishing a player.
Steve states that spanking a child should be Ok, but if you leave physical marks on them then you are a bully and a bad parent. Steve says he is right. Sometimes punishing a kid like that will make them turn out bad in the long run. Steve does say that even though AP deserves jail time it may not help more than just having counseling. Educate him and explain that getting counseling will help him, but if he does it again then put him away for 20 years.
Andy feels he really does need help. Infact all NFL players should go through counseling on this subject. The NFL has to take these things very seriously. It is not like the NHL which is a low profile sport and should this happen in that sport it wouldn't be heard as much as the NFL.
Scott feels that raising your voice should do enough. Kids do understand that. Unfortunately AP's children will probably suffer the effects of this for much their lives.
To be clear here as well, Scott, Andy and Steve all strongly disagree with AP's handling of his children.
