Hi Pregame:
Looking for some advice from some of the Vegas sharps here at Pregame.
I had a winning sports ticket for $12,000. I gave it to a friend and he mailed it in as directed. They refused to cash it because they said I had purchased it on my player's card and said only I could cash it. Since I live in Vegas and they had the ticket in their possession, he asked if they could simply hold it and I could run in and cash it. They refused and sent it back to my friend and said they could not hold onto it. He got it back to me. I went in personally to cash it. They refused again. They now said we both had to be there personally to cash it. I sent an email to management detailing this was a burdensome request.
Then they relaxed that requirement that we both had to be there and instead said we had to sign a "Wagering Account Agent Authorization Form" and my friend had to send in picture ID. This appears to be a boilerplate form with about 20 terms and conditions. One term is that the signer is not a "Messenger Bettors" (a person who places bets for someone else for compensation). Then it authorizes them to give info to government authorities, etc. The peculiar thing is that they specifically requested that they want my friend to sign that he is the Account Holder and I am his Agent. Yet I am the one who lives in Vegas and plays there regularly. I am the one with the player's card who made the wager. My friend does not want to sign a form, understandably, claiming he is the Account Holder. He has no account there, he simply tried to cash one ticket I gave him. He wants to assist me, but ultimately I fear he's just going to refuse to sign it.
Anyone familiar with this kind of thing? Is this standard or are they just trying to make things as difficult as possible for me (I'm up on this sportsbook)? If I put my foot down that no one is signing anything (I don't mind a standard CTR if they want to pay me in cash) will they pay? Appreciate any assistance.....
