It took me a little while to find a strong totals play today but I think I have found a good one. HERE WE GO:
2* UNDER 136 Texas at Texas Tech 4:00pm EST ESPNEWS
I really don't see much here that justifies the point total being above 130. Year long statistics and recent performance both clearly point to a low scoring game. The point spread says this should be a toss up game, and I completely agree. Most statistics are about equal; Texas is the superior rebounding team, but they struggle mightily at the FT line. I truly believe this game will be decided by five points or less, but it should be in the low 60s rather than the high 60s.
Texas has lost their last four road games, while Texas Tech has lost their last six overall. At least somebody has to win LOL. I'm not counting on much in terms of offense. In their last ten games, Texas Tech has averaged just 60.2 ppg. Recently that number is even lower; in their last five games, Texas Tech has averaged just 57.4 ppg. When looking at the last four Texas Tech home games, no game has gone higher than 127 points. As for Texas, in their last five road games, they average just 62.2 ppg. Both teams average more turnovers per game than assists per game. Neither team shoots the 3 ball well, especially as of late, and collectively these two teams average fewer than ten 3PT FGs made per game. Finally, between the two teams there will not be one player in this game that averages more than 14 ppg. The first meeting went for 131 points, and this will be a revenge spot for Texas Tech in their final home game of the year. I will call for 129 points here, good enough for a two star play. Due to the relatively high probability of OT in this game, I can't make this a three star play. I'm starting to see some 135.5s pop up, so if you agree with this play, get it in sooner rather than later. BOL to all, let's have a winning day.
