Mizzou couldn't play any worse than they did in the first half, however they did equal their lackluster 1st half performance.

I'm sorry to be critical here, but wouldn't a 1* or 2* half time bet been enough? Maybe Mizzou was outplayed in the 1st half because either they weren't the best team tonight or ---- (make up your own reason). I've followed your picks all CBB season Mr. Pool and not only appreciate the time you put into your write-ups, but I've also profited from more than 1 of your picks. I will say that this 2nd half pick and your recent Murray St/St. Mary's pick seemed to come more from your heart than your head. Fortunately, Murray St worked out, but maybe you're just a little too emotionally involved in the Missouri Valley. Just a thought.

I guarantee you the heart had nothing to do with the Murray St. pick. I HATE Murray St. Their fans are the most arrogant bunch of assholes on the planet. The weeks leading up to the bracketbuster game I figured that Murray would be playing Wichita St. or St. Marys. I was all ready to fire on either one of those two teams against Murray. Murray had been playing like crap for most of the conference season and just getting by as their ATS record showed. Then they lost at home to Tenn. St. If you didn't see the ending they flat out gave the game away in the last 2 minutes. They looked like a BAD highschool team. That game seemed to bring them back to reality. The next game they manhandled their biggest rival Austin Peay 82-63. Then the game before the bracketbuster game they came to SEMO to play them for the second time this year. I really thought SEMO would win that game. That was the second time I've seen Murray in person this year and I've watched them several times on TV. SEMO played a hell of a game but lost 75-66. Murray used a smothering defense that I hadn't seen them use much this year and for a fairly small team crashed the boards like a bunch of demons. After that game I knew that the real Racer team had finally showed up. Believe me, heart had nothing to do with that pick. Being able to analyze the information I had and put it togeather with what I had seen with my own eyes is what led to that pick.

Same thing for the Mizzou play. I could have made it a 3* (no less) but I really believed Mizzou would win the game. I made a bad call. Not my first and won't be my last. OH, I have no connection with Mizzou what so ever. The only team my heart my get in the way of my pick is on SEMO and then I always take a step back and rethink those plays before making them.

I'm sorry, I made a mistake when I referenced the Murray State/St. Mary's game when I meant the recent Murray St./ SEMO game. I agreed with your writeup on that game, but I could still sense your contempt toward MSU. I'm not blaming you for this. We're all fans of something and it's what drives our passion for the game. I live in So. Cal and love the CSULB 49er's and the UCI Anteaters and have compromised facts for passion on more than 1 bet and I will bet against USC for any reason whatsoever, so please don't think I'm criticizing your passion. I just know that in my case and in other people's picks, sometimes it's best to step back.
