I am just going by what I saw in that game, Coddfish. I don't follow college Bball all that closely, but from what I follow he is a perennial underachiever. And in that game he was SEVERELY outcoached. By a wide margin. What does not getting routed have to do with anything? They were a 2 seed playing an 11 seed, and by all accounts have one of the most talented teams in the country. Bottom line is he was up 8 with 330 to go. And he made bad decision after bad decision. From a personnel standpoint, and X and O standpoint. No way you have both of those slow footed 7 footers in the game at then same time at the end of that game. They went on a run when only one was on the floor. Way too slow footed. And then you call a lob/ pass back to inbounder inbounds play with a elite 8 appearance on the line? WTF? Then with the game tied with 50 seconds left, you call a play to post up the lesser effective 7 footer who hasn't done shit all game, and he spins baseline for an airballed hook shot, when your shooter is really hot. Just a terrible coaching job that cost his team a trip to the elite 8. Yes players are on the court and play, but that coach did not put his team in optimal position to be successful at the end of that game. That is the bottom line. Terrible coaching by him in that game, and I don't care how he recruits or what he did the rest of the year. I am speaking on what I saw with my own eyes .
