Sweet Sixteen! Love the sound of that alliteration (and it only gets better from here). One of the things I try to do here is not to get caught up in the hype of the team that played well last round. As our old friend, Marco D, would say: "You're never as good as your best game, and you're never as bad as your worst game." The teams have had a chance to regroup and prepare for their games tonight, so I think we will see some highly competitive games, and we could be in for quite a few upsets the next couple of days. Having said all that, here are my plays:
Purdue +5 vs Kansas - Before last weekend, KU played tons of games close to the vest. Purdue could be a match-up problem for the Jayhawks, but the strength of KU's guards will win this game late. Purdue stays within the margin.
West Virginia +3 vs Gonzaga - I highly recommend Dave Malinsky's read on this game, /pregame-forums/f/14/t/1657962.aspx. Outstanding breakdown of the match-up between West Virginia and Gonzaga, and why this is a bad match-up for Gonzaga. I really can't add anything to this.
Xavier +7.5 vs Arizona. - Again refer to Malinsky's post referenced above. Xavier has an uncanny ability to cover the spread in this round. I would also lean to the Under 145 in this game.
BOL tonight everyone!
