533 UL LAFAYETTE at 534 ARKANSAS LITTLE ROCK

Take: UL LAFAYETTE -2

One of my other resolutions for 2017 is to get a little less wordy with my analysis. I don’t think it’s necessary to publish a short novel each day when brevity will suffice. It’s not like I’m in the hunt for a Pulitzer Prize, so I’m going to just cut to the chase more frequently this year.

On this game, I’ve got a UL Lafayette team that looms as one of the favorites in the Sun Belt looking to avoid an 0-2 start in league play. The Cajuns dropped a tough game at Arkansas State on Saturday and need to bounce right back tonight.

Plenty of motivation for ULL as they lost three times to Little Rock last season. That wasn’t exactly shocking as the Trojans were a powerhouse last year. But head coach Chris Beard has moved on, and the personnel simply isn’t as good this season. They’re still a decent team by Sun Belt standards, but several league entries will be in payback mode this time around.

ULL owns several advantages in the head to head categorical comparisons, and with what should be some clear motivation, I like the Cajuns to win here. I’d recommend spotting the short number with UL Lafayette.
