Hey everyone! You all probably know that they just released the brackets and they way to make money is finding the upsets because everyone can pick the higher seeds. My early upsets picks are:
WASHINGTON over Marquette and then getting to the Sweet Sixteen
SAN DIEGO STATE over Tennessee
MISSOURI over Clemson and then getting to the Sweet Sixteen
FLORIDA over BYU
UTAH STATE over Texas A&M
ST MARYS over Richmond
These are only early early leans and are of course subject to change.
But, what upsets do you guys like for the first round or even to get to the Sweet Sixteen?
2011-12 CBB: 1-5 (-3.9 Units)
I really like SD State over Tennessee. I dont think Missouri or Florida winning would be much of an upset. I think Richmond and Marquette gets it done.
i like your last two, as well as cornell, siena, utep and murray st...got cornell, utep and siena as sweet 16s...wish morgan st didn't have wvu, cuz i had them pegged for a win as well before matchups were announced....morgan st and vermont i think have best shots of huge upsets in 1st round...just counted, i got 9 double-digit seeds winning in 1st round, including two potential 12-13 matchups in round two

I was just going off of double digit seeds vs. single digit seeds.

Yeah, this tourney is looking to be extremely exciting with some huge upsets in store.

I personally like Cal to make a sweet 16 run - taking down Louisville and in my opinion an overrated Duke team whos been known for early exits this decade.
Good guards, good free throw shooting and a perimeter focus can get you a W on any given day. If they can stay consitent and find there groove this isnt a long shot by any means. I could be completely wrong but thats what makes this tournament so damn exciting.
OK, here's my Tournament One Cent (it's early, need to save a penny):
Wake beats Texas--or at worst covers a six point spread
Louisville will beat Cal---Bears flying coast-to-coast
Sienna will beat Purdue and will beat Utah State after Utah State takes down Texas A & M (ouch)
Richmond will beat St. Mary's and the Tournament Best Bet is that they then take down Villanova (at worst cover)
New Mexico State upsets Michigan State (or at absolute worst covers)
Kansas State will knock off Syracuse and get a rematch with Kansas
Baylor may be the one to knock off Duke
