Went 10-2 on Saturday which felt good (Sunday's results are still pending while I am writing this and went 4-2 on Sunday). Hopefully we can close strong and have a solid March on the hardwood.
(Might be adding more games so check back)
NOTRE DAME +11 at North Carolina WINNER
To me the sell sign is flashing on UNC after they barely beat NC State and Virginia Tech. I think we get a fired up Notre Dame team coming off an OT loss to Pitt. Plus last time I checked Roy Williams was still coaching the Tarheels.
XAVIER -1 at Seton Hall LOSER
This was a tough call for me. It's a better spot for Hall but Xavier needs this game as they probably shouldn't lose this one if they want to make the tournament. The question becomes how much Xavier has left in the tank after beating Creighton on Saturday. Ultimately I went with Xavier because of the health of Hall's leading scorer Fuquan Edwin who is dealing with a thumb injury. Even if he does play I doubt he will be 100%. Hall beat Xavier at Xavier back in February BUT in that game Edwin was the leading scorer for Hall and Xavier went 2-14 from three.
OKLAHOMA STATE -8.5 vs Kansas State WINNER
Oklahoma State is on a mission to make the NCAA tournament. They have looked good since Smart's return and now face a Kansas State team who I believe may be physically exhausted after hosting fast paced Iowa State on Saturday. Kansas State's strength is their intense defense so I think it hurts them more than other teams when they are fatigued.
NC STATE + 11 at Pitt WINNER
I continue to feel Pitt is overrated and I think it makes sense to fade them coming their OT game on Saturday. Pitt beat NC State at NC State back in January but NC State is a young team who has improved since then. Plus in that game NC State actually led at the half. NC State took UNC to OT two games ago and I'm not going to read too much into their loss last game to Miami considering Miami might have been a bad match-up for them with their funky zone.
NAVY +12 at Colgate WINNER
This is the opening round of the Patriot League tournament and I think we see monster efforts from both teams as they know the only way they will be dancing is if they win the conference tournament. Navy lost their top scorer early in the season but even without him they were able to split the season series with Colgate. Colgate played a road game on March 1st while Navy was at home which I think will help Navy. I think we will see some nerves from both teams and with Colgate's strength being their offense I could see them getting into trouble if their shots aren't falling. I'm going to take the points.
NC Central -14.5 vs Savannah State LOSER
Bad spot for Savannah State playing their 2nd road game in 3 days plus their last game went to OT.
82-85 86-87 season to date. All picks entered into Pregame's tracking system. We WILL turn this around.
