You should have heard ESPN radio around 1/2 hour before the early games went off (11:30 am here). They were interviewing UTAH ST's coach. And the guy didn't sound too thrilled . It sounded like he had an ordinary team that just happens to win games by the skin of their teeth. The 2 broadcasters, in typical ESPN Factor in betting High Profile game,s The ESPN Factor, were going on & on about this team. You should have heard them. They were on Utah State big time. I knew right then & there that this was fodder material.
Utah State, the 4-pt favorite & #17 team, goes down at the hands of Boise State. Matty O'Shea called the Boise State cover & outright victory.
The ESPN Factor
In high profile games, when they (ESPN) seems to spend an disproportionate amount of time discussing anything about one of the teams, that team tanks. I don't keeps stats on this but it's something I've noticed over the years & keep in mind when I place my bet or make a last minute wager.
They are touting Memphis & Calipari like he's the 2nd coming of Christ.
It's like this: the bookies drive Caddys for a reason. I watch ESPN & when they blow the horn, in favor of 1 team more than I feel is necessary, over the other team, I know somethings up. I bet the other way.
Check this out=> SuperBowl: They kept going on about the Patriots this, the Patriots that. They ran a goddam special about Randy Moss. I thought I had the Biography Channel on!
Lang is on Memphis; the public's on Memphis, Espn's on Memphis.
I've written about this several times now & it's panned out every time!
I may be wrong , but....I'm probably not.
*** They were noticeably quiet last night before the Yankees Final Season Home Game vs The Baltimore Orioles; they gave no opinion on the game Yankees win easily. REVERSE ESPN FACTOR
*** They spend 45 minutes on Favre before MNF NYJ vs SDC. The Chargers destroy the Jets
11-4-08 They go on about how the NYI's don't stand a chance on tonite's NHL matchup at the NYR's. I took note of it & proceeded to place my bets on the NYI's. They're up 2-0 in the 3rd.
A lot of times I wait until I hear them sound off. But I'm not bull-shitting about the Giants / Patriots Superbowl. I really had to check to see if my wife had the Biography Channel on. I thought they were doing a documentary on Moss. They did the same thing in the big CBB game last year, I think it was Memphis vs Tennessee, with them going on about Calipari.

*The coach sounded lackadaisical & "lucky" to be winning all their previous games. The broadcasters sounded too "high" on Utah State too.
Same with USA Today-----Whenever I see a front page spread on a certain player or team---I know where to bet. Also if the espn talking heads say----there will be plenty of points tonight----Bet the under. These guys are with the teams 3-4 days---talk to the coaches and players and get a feel for what's coming---even to the point of learning the coaches' strategy and opposing team evaluation. Vegas' influence is far-reaching. Better off to lock your play in before watching that stuff.

Trust me; when I get around to it, I'm going to update "The Espn Factor in High Profile Games" to reflect this. jl
I find it really weird how whenever all the cappers are on the same side that game loses....
Every Tout was on cavs 1st half line with the cavs up by 20 and then they blow it!!! The only one smart was redd with cavs for the game and he won!! The Magic owned them all year!!
Yesterday everyone was on pitt in baseball and then houston wins. Why is it when they are all on the same game they all lose??
Are they being paid off to give losing info?? Are they all just that dumb??? Or are these games FIXED????
