There are two teams in the OVC that are playing their best ball of the year right now and SEMO is one of those. There's more than one reason for this but the main two reasons are better defense and the guards started to relax and just play the game and are starting to shoot the ball like everyone thought they would all year. It seemed to start three games ago when Marland Smith finally broke SEMO's all time record for 3pt shots made in a career. In the last three games Marland is 22-35 62% from the floor and 17-26 65% from three. In the last three games SEMO is 85-165 51% from the floor and 32-62 51% from three. In those games SEMO held the opposition to 77-198 38% from the floor and 16-57 28% from three. In the last two games SEMO has made 27 three point shots. When they get this kind of play from their guards to go along with the inside game of Tyler Stone and Nino Johnson this becomes a very dangerous team for anyone in this conference.
With three conference games remaining it looks like SEMO will make the conference tournament but a win in this game would guaranty it. This will be senior night for JSU and of course they will want to win it but they are barred from the OVC postseason tournament. So that incentive is not there for them. I LOVE SEMO in the underdog role and I believe they win this one outright so I'm splitting this bet.

AUSTIN PEAY AT E. KENTUCKY
See first post. The Govs a playing very good ball now. KenPom had this one with EKU winning 83-65. I had my gun locked and loaded if that line came out. It was going to be a 7* play. I still love getting double digits the way the Govs are playing now.

GL pool and nice capping with St. Louis last night.
Good luck Pool!
Boy this was another one that was tough to take. SEMO leads for almost the entire game. Then from around the 12 minute mark of the second half to the 5 1/2 minute mark they score 2 points. On top of that JSU shoots 22 freethrows to SEMO's 10 and the score is still tied at 65 with a few seconds left when JSU wins on a shot that doesn't even go in the basket. A JSU player drives just outside the lane and puts up a shot that is blocked. Of course SEMO was called for goal tending. On the replay it showed the ball getting blocked right at the top of it's arc. If it's a no call then we most likely get overtime and win both of our total bets and still probable win our big 5* play on SEMO with a good shot at the ML bet also. One whistle cost so much. We go 1-4 -5.1 units on the day. YTD record now 91-89 -13.47 units.
