UCLA's Lonzo Ball may be a great college player and a top-two draft pick, but his father, LeVar Ball, needs to shut up.
I've never heard of a famous athlete's father who says more dumb things than LeVar Ball. It's to the point where the Lakers, who have the second pick in the NBA draft, may hesitate to take Lonzo Ball even though he's the consensus No. 2 pick behind Markelle Fultz.
LeVar Ball has thrust himself unnecessarily into the spotlight - at the expense of his talented son - by making these comments:
"Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordon one-on-one." LeVar Ball averaged less than three points per game when he played at Washington State. LeVar Ball also said Lonzo was a better player than Stephen Curry. Nice way to put a lot of heat on your kid.
After UCLA was eliminated by Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament, Ball said, "Realistically you can't win no championship with three white guys because the foot speed is too slow." That's grammatically incorrect. It also happens to be racist.
LeVar Ball really took things too far when he told Kristine Leahy, co-host of Fox Sports One's The Herd, to stay in her lane during a broadcast while refusing to look at her while making snide remarks in a high pitch voice to her co-host, Colin Cowherd.
Draft Lonzo Ball and you inherit LeVar Ball. It's a package deal. If LaVar Ball really cared about Lonzo he'd shut up because he's absolutely insufferable.
On the handicapping front, I'm riding a 23-4 streak during the past 11 days. I am 24-9 on my last 33 baseball plays, 15-5 on my past 20 hockey plays and 29-14-1 on my last 44 NBA plays. My Friday card is topped by my Triple Star NBA Game of the Week. I also have Double Star plays in baseball and hockey. All of my plays and packages can be found here: /pregamepros/pro-bettor/bettor.aspx?id=7746#capper.
As always, let us suffer no bad beats!
