Sorry I have not been around the forum so much of late. My better half's dad was in the hospital in Springfield, Mo and I have been doing some running back and forth. He finally passed and the funeral is friday. So will be in and out the next few days. Just trying hard to balance work and home responsibilities. Sure many of you know what that is all about.
It was on this date back in 1997 that one of the most underrated players in league history scored his 15,000th career point against Golden State. I am referring to Mitch Richmond. Mitch was with the Kings at that point in his career. Had the pleasure of becoming familiar with Mitch when he was recruited out of Fort Lauderdale Florida to my home town and the Moberly Jr College Greyhounds where he was recruited to and played for with Dana Altman. I can personally testify to the fact Mitch is one of the very, very good guys in sports. He always played hard, played well and he always conducted himself with total class. Both off and on the court. I was really glad when he signed with the Lakers and finally got his ring. He labored most his career in relative obscurity with the Warriors, Kings and Wizards. When at the tail end of his career Phil Jackson signed him on with the Lakers and Mitch went with the lesser money for an opportunity to finally get that ring. Worked out great for him.
Okay, a free play for tonight. Suggesting a small play on the Texas longhorns as they host the West Virginia Mountaineers. Shaka Smart has the program heading in the right direction. Tough spot here tonight for Huggins club. I say lay the small number with the Horns here at home.
On the business end I do have a college hoops Double Star Rabid Dog in play tonight. I don't fire these every night. I think we have a golden opportunity with one here tonight.
Many thanks as always and best of luck with your action guys.
