Teddy's first take is that RJ is good on Sportscenter. LOL The Link to his appearance on Sportscenter can be found HERE
This weekend saw some bad basketball played in NRG Stadium in Houston. Teddy doesn't feel that games should be played in non-basketball venues like this. The lighting was all wrong for the shooters and the backdrop was horrible as well, plus fans in the front row had to use binoculars.
One god thing to take away were that if you played the under you went 3-0 and those three games covered by an average of 17 ppg. Not even close.
Three point shooting in the 3 games was 23-86 (26.7%), despite the fact that the for teams in the bracket were among the best 3 point shooting teams in the nation.
Dave feels it was really crazy that the NCAA would have a game in this Venue, when they could have made the same amount of money in a regular basketball venue. Dave feels it was just an awful place for these games to be played. Yes the RFinal 4 will also be played in a big stadium, but some players and 3 of he 4 teams have played here before.
The betting market did catch up some to the expectations for the bad shooting. The Sportsbooks did adjust some and the public still flocked to the under in the 3 games.
48 of the last 54 higher seeds have advanced in the tournament and RJ states that this is just the 5th time since 1979 that two number 1 seeds were in the Final 4. The numbers 1 seeds were clearly better this year.
