Yes, we shall have to see if Kentucky seals the deal. I have no rooting interest in the outcome and am not sure if I will have action on or against Kentucky if they are in the Championship Game on Monday night -- might get involved with the Total. I am hoping it is a matchup of Kentucky vs Duke from a historical perspective and an irony perspective as well.
It would be nice see the first team accomplish an unbeaten season for the first time in more than a generation (since IU in 1976) after a handful have made nice runs over the years but fallen short.
And it would be even better if it is attempted vs Duke due to the irony as Duke's coach K is tied for the second most national Titles with 4. Only John Wooden has more (10).
And with whom is Coach K tied with 4 Titles? None other than Adolph Rupp -- who won his 4 Titles as coach of Kentucky.
Gotta love the irony -- regardless of the result -- if we get a Duke v Kentucky matchup.
And the fact that both programs are either passionately loved or passionately hated would make for yet another intriguing story line.
And with TBS telecasting the Saturday games CBS will telecast only the Championship Game Monday night and would love nothing more than a Duke v Kentucky matchup which, in an ideal world, would come down to the last shot of regulation sendint the game in overtime with the game ultimately decided by a final make or miss at the buzzer (such as in that memorable Duke vs Butler Championship Game in 2010 -- also played at Lucas Oil).
