After 50 years of handicapping THOUSANDS of both winners and losers, I have learned one thing, (listen up P/G er's, I'm about to give you the MOST valuable two words you may ever read in this forum or anyplace else)... when you lose a bet MOVE ON! So many tangents evolve off of this on simple principle it is hard to believe, yet I know it is fact.
Taking one bet at a time is the key to making $$$ in this very tough "field". I call it a field because that is exactly what it has become. Any one that chases money (trying to recover losses) is destined to failure. Swallowing a loss (or even worse, LOSSES) is hard to do but simply put, that is what it takes to win in the long run. I am willing to pass this information on to you P/G er's absolutely free because I am so happy to be a part of this website and more particularly this forum.
Each time you place a wager, treat it independently of your last. It's similar to treating the birth of your children (assuming you have more than one) as a separate event. The truth is, that's what it is!
Those that are willing to put the time in required to place positive E/V wagers will prevail in the long run. That's the absolute truth (usually). When you factor in emotions, losing streaks, unlucky breaks and any "personal" problems that may exist, even good handicappers can fail and go broke.
To close on a positive note, 'capper's that can FORGET their last losing wager as soon as the results are posted (or even before) stand the best chance moving forward to success. As I said in the opening paragraph of this post, "MOVE ON" are the two most important words I can share with you...
Good Luck Handicappers!
