ADDED 2* COLORADO ML +130 @ 12:23 CST
* CAROLINA HURRICANES ML -145 ....THE CANES ARE ON FIRE.
This team I would probably say is the most imported team in the NHL, along with Edmonton. Only 1 time this year Carolina has scored less than 1 goal in regulation and in that game, they ended up winning 1-0 with a goal in Overtime. Cam Ward has been playing well. The Carolina offense is doing much better this season as they were always viewed as a defensive team. The last 3 games they had offensive outbursts for 5+ goals per game.
The NY Islanders finally got a win last night on the road playing the Panthers, however on a road b2b, I don't see the Islanders keeping pace with Carolina.
Carolina has the least amount of penalty minutes in the entire league. They're disciplined.
2* NY RANGERS ML +130
Offensively:
NYR is 2nd in NHL with 3.4 goals for #2 just behind Pitt.
NYR has the best road record of any team at 15-6-0.
In the Rangers last 5 wins it has scored 4+ goals in each. Tonight is Rick Nash's second game back from a groin injury that sidelined him for 8 or 9 games.
MTL ranks 5th with 3.07 Goals per game.
NYR has 2nd best road power play % in the NHL. Canadiens penalty kill that sits 23rd and has allowed at least one power play goal in 9 of their 10 games.
NYR is the 3rd least penalized team in NHL. MTL has almost 1.5 times the penalty minutes as NYR and with MTL giving up power play goals in 9 of their last 10 games I can see the Rangers taking advantage and getting at least one goal from a 5 on 4. MTL penalty kill is ranked 23rd.
GOALIES:
LUNDQVIST FOR NY.
NYR averaging 2.56 Goals Against per game.
PRICE FOR MTL. He has not been getting many nights off. His numbers have fallen off a bit as I think he's playing injured. Many are concerned that he is not given adequate off-days vs. subpar opponents.
MTL in Goals Against per game is averaging 2.49.
Montreal Defense is suffering from some injuries.
For now as of 10:26 CST, I am these 2 however I will probably have 1 more play.
