I will be strictly spot playing the NHL this season. In other words, I'm looking for what I consider prime situational spots and that's all I'm going to play.
For me, the decision to skip the daily grind necessary to profit in the NHL is simple enough. There aren't enough hours in my day to do football, basketball and hockey full time. I'm not saying this is the same for everyone, and we all have different methods as far as the analysis is concerned. But for me, I'm convinced everything will suffer to some extent if I try and chop up the clock in an effort to do all the sports full time. That's not going to be good for me, as I bet all the plays I sell. And it's not going to be good for my subscribers, as they are risking their dollars on my recommendations.
At the same time, I'm not going to ignore the NHL completely as there will be occasional advantageous situations where I'm going to want to bet a game. If I spot something I deem to be in this category, I'm going to play it, but there just don't figure to be a whole lot of those situations.
So what it comes down to is this. If you're looking for plenty of action, I'm most definitely not the right choice for your NHL endeavors. If you like the idea of popping on a very occasional basis, I think I have a reasonable shot at producing a small profit. Realistic projections? I'd say if you're playing one unit on each play, perhaps ten net units for the season.
I realize that's not exactly a pizzazz projection that's going to get anyone revved up, but if you're looking for the occasional foray on the ice that produces a little black ink, I can hopefully accomplish that this season.
