It’s not often that you see one team so thoroughly outplay the other yet come away with a loss. Tampa was a far better team than Detroit in that first game of the series, and analyzing each team’s season-long stat’s I’m convinced that they’re a better team in this matchup period. They outshot Detroit 46 to 14 in the first game and failed to score on any of their 6 PP chances (the 7th PP was only 13 seconds long at the end of the game). Tampa had an 8.6% Shot% this season, so on those 46 shots on net they were expected to score about 4 goals. They only scored 2. Expect the same level of effort from Tampa as they showed in game 1 but I doubt we’ll see a similar outcome. I like Tampa’s chances of evening out the series and the ‘future’ odds will only rise after today’s game.
#3: Winnipeg Jets +120
Back on the Jets, whom I consider a better team than Anaheim. (See analysis from first game of this series)
Good Luck
