Support for Puck Line pick on Vanc Canucks (-1.5 ) over Carolina
This puck line pick on Vancouver is just as much AGAINST the Carolina Hurricanes, who are TERRIBLE so far this season, having dropped all 7 games so far, including 3 straight by 2> goals on their Western Canada road trip that they finish up tonight. The Hurricanes fell to 0-3-1 on their trip Friday, scoring just five goals over the first four games of the trip, which has closely resembled the "Battaan Death March," most recently dropping a 6-3 decision in Edmonton, as they allowed three goals over the final 7:05 of the third period.
In sharp contrast, Vancouver continues a three-game home stand that began Sunday with a 4-2 triumph over Washington. Nick Bonino and Radim Vrbata each recorded a goal and an assist as the Canucks improved to 2-1-0 at Rogers Arena this season. And Vancouver has been a pleasant surprise for their backers this season, sitting at 5-3, with 4 of their 5 wins coming by 2+ goals. Vancouver has won six straight home meetings with Carolina, last losing on Oct. 15, 1999, and took both meetings between these clubs last season, including a 2-0 win in Vancouver. Based on the above, it's hard to picture Carolina even being competitive tonite in Vancouver, much less winning. So with all signs pointing to an easy Canucks win here, and with the lines for Vanc being -250 on the ML and +125 to 135 on the -1.5 puck line, it's a "no-brainer" to take Canucks laying -1.5 goals at the nice plus odds price and look for a covering win by 2> goals.
GL if you decide to play Vanc along with me.
