Topic of the Day: Thoughts on choice for Paul Ryan as VP?

Has never held statewide office and has no foreign-policy experience. Both could be liabilities. And while Romney has criticized Obama for not having private-sector experience, the same is true of Ryan. Ryan briefly worked for his family’s business as a “marketing consultant,” but most of his adult life has been spent as a congressman, congressional aide, or speechwriter/analyst at Jack Kemp’s Empower America think tank. There are holes in Ryan’s budget-hawk armor: He voted for some of the biggest drivers of the deficit/debt -- the Bush tax cuts, the Iraq war, and the Medicare prescription-drug benefit, all of which weren’t paid for. Moreover, Ryan voted against the bipartisan Simpson-Bowles recommendations.

A least a small upgrade over Palin.

The Bush tax cuts were a big mistake because they did not cut back spending. General rule is no cutting taxes UNLESS you have the surplus to pay for it out the gate and/or you cut spending in other areas. Bush went against the advise of his economic advisors when they expected surplus never happened.

Saying he is better than Palin isn't really saying much.....can she still she Russia from here front porch?  Total idiot.   Again totally frustrating that the GOP cannot access a talent pool that their chosen leaders have the shallow charsima we look for in our leaders....

I'd rather my mother in law be in the oval office than Obama. That pretty much sums up my view.

one chioce may be better than another but dont think anyone switches to Obama  if they were voting for Romney to begin with...doubt many are on the fence for this election.....just a matter of who shows up to vote

Well, after hearing who Mr. Romney has chosen for his running mate, there is no doubt how "close to the middle" Mr. Romney is willing to go. In this choice he makes it clear, he is not willing to give up one far right wing vote. I'm not surprised.
