Topic of the Day: Obama or Romney?

There's not a single politician who deserves my time, energy, or support.  They all have to keep us, the American people off-balance and at each other's throats to succeed, while virtually all of those who reach their pinnacle - a spot in DC as a member of the house or senate, or even the presidency, triple, quadruple, and even increase their assets tenfold and more while in office.  Ask yourself how a "public servant" can increase their net worth by leaps and bounds while much of the nation they are supposed to represent are mired in financial crisis!  Politics should not be a "get rich quick" scheme.

Imagine what would happen if the American people grew tired of "fighting" each other on which party is the best - and instead all teamed up on the same side.  We'd actually force an intelligent, hard-working leader (for once) who'd have to produce rather than golf and travel on our dime.  And that's not a shot against Obama, Bush, or any president.  I think they all "stink on ice" for the most part.  

Ok - my one political rant in 2012 is over.  Back to trying to beat the point-spread!

Jared all you got to do is research the people in the obama administration,people like rahm emanual and john Holdren.you don,t know a fraction of what i know.The federal reserve is responsible for the housing crisis and they did it on purpose,to steal the wealth of americas middle class,millions of homes.They inflate the money supply,people buy homes with large down payments they saved,then once they get enough suckers reeled in they deflate the money supply,jobs disappear,hours go down,pay cuts come,people can,t afford their payments on that easy credit they got and the banks foreclose on their homes.What do you think they did with most of that bailout money,they bought those foreclosures for pennies on the dollar.We need to do what iceland did,arrest the bankers,establish our own central bank,print our own money backed by gold,silver or something of value.I NEVER said Romney would be better but it,s worth a shot because Obama has a lot of evil men in his administration.Clinton signed nafta into law and repealed glass-steagal,another puppet for the globalist.All of them since kennedy are puppets and all the people they defeated for the election are their puppets.The illuminati always win the election,could have broken that with Ron paul.They always own the two finalist and it,s happening again in 2012.I know about romney and bain capitol,pretty woman style. there is nothing you can teach me.Bankers,corporations,politicians,that,s the order of the food chain.We are way down at the bottom of this system they have built,Debt slaves.As slaves we own nothing,as their corporate employees we own nothing.Pay off your houseor property,check your ownership papers,they will not say owner,they will say TENANT.Do you know about the act of 1871 and the u.s. bankruptcy in 1933.Do you know about roosevelts executive order in 1934 requiring all americans to turn in their gold,of course they gave you paper for that gold.Did you know that to make that execytive order legal they had to classify all americans as enemy combatants by virtue of a existing law called the trading with the enemy act.The victors write the history books-Winston Churchill.The federal gov,t is the enabler of the federal reserve and they are not going to end the fed,only one guy would have done that.Why would they,they can borrow all the money they want,at 2 to 5 5 interest and the tax payers are their collateral.Research the babkuptcy of 1933 or better yet find a post in one of these threads called the truth fox news wont tell you.I,ll post it for you,if you,re a teacher that means you like to learn,so do I but the truth,not disinformation and lies,that,s mostly what,s in the school history books.

The 2012 presidential campaign will come down to which candidate has more charisma with swing voters giving Barack Obama the edge he needs over challenger Mitt Romney. Voters who pick a candidate just before the election usually decide on the basis of likability, not issues. Although the Obama campaign has floundered in its initial candidate re-branding, Romney hasn't been able to generate much magnetism, even after winning enough delegates to secure the Republican nomination.The race is coming down to dueling lackluster brands.  Axelrod and company are resurrecting Obama as the compassionate community organizer. Hence all of Obama's talk about economic fairness and his public support for gay marriage.

Romney's campaign is branding him as a kind of missionary CEO who has been called to revive the economy,  but Romney personally doesn't have the charisma to play the part. He's too wooden, too artificial .Romney doesn't even come across as believing fully in himself.

 In spite of Obama's poor economic record, the Democratic president has the advantage of residual brand appeal from 2008. All Obama has to do isrevive enough of his charismatic brand appeal with swing voters in the days leading up to the election. If he does that successfully, just about everything else that happens between now and November will be irrelevant.          

Democrats complaining about the Republican spending need to go back 6-months or more. It was widely reported before the economic news continued to stay the same or worse that Obama would potentially raise a billion dollars by time of election day. So because he is not on pace to pull a record amount of money, to play the "spending money card" is silly IMO.

Also, Democrats need to look at how much they outspent Republicans vs. McCain AND also look into the amount Wall Street gave Obama versus McCain. Not even close. But that does not count I guess. 74% of of Obama's money was $200+ donation and 50%+ was $2000+ when he won the first time.

In regards to Maddow, she is clueless on what happened in Wisconsin. So is the right spinning it as anti-Obama. Something like 60+% of the people in the state were against the recall in the first place and felt someone should only be recalled if something illegal happened or gross misconduct. Even though the Republican won by a large margin, the exit polling showed they still supported Obama.

In closing, back in 2008 NPR (not exactly right wing) did a piece on the amount of money Obama was bringing in a in the end would possibly be able to "buy the election". Search news articles from 2008 and you could read for the next year how many people saw the future and saw all this happening and said Obama was causing it with what he was doing in the election. www.npr.org/.../story.php

Let's face it, the younger generation(20 somethings) is simply too naive to understand how Obama wants to change what America stands for. Work a few more years, pay several more thousand dollars of your hard-earned money in taxes and then tell me you support a politician who wants more and more of YOUR GOD DAMN MONEY to give to someone else who didn't work for it, AT ALL.

Why are you allowing all this prejudice towards Obama on pregame. Some of these guys should be banned for life. I am ashamed of this nonsense. The forum, should be about sports not politics and prejudice dOnkeys on here.

I admit to not reading all of the post and I might have missed what you are talking about but I'm about sick of the "you don't like him cause he's black". I believe Obama's fiscal policy sucks worse than Splitters free throws and that's not based on any preconceived notion.  What I'm hearing is bashing of any and every candidate except Ron Paul and if we start banning people for an opinion then it will be a sad day.

so true. mainly the college kids who are clueless. i love going to Ann Arbor and these kids are the most politically correct, save everyone, borderline socialists outside of the left coast. BUT, they are all usually rich kids who are going to a high priced school BECAUSE their family is the 1% they are protesting, lol. they are GOING TO SCHOOL taking business or other fields to run or work for the very companies they hate.

Oh, the irony, JD. Call me crazy but I'm not sure we shouldn't be required to work for say 5 years before being given the right to vote. Might change a few minds. And yeah, good lord, our university system has turned into a socialism factory and we're paying for a good bit of it.

the worst used to the sociology classes. rich white people from the suburbs trying to solve and figure out the ills of the inner city. i grew up in a mixed area and stood up in a few weddings where the only one thing there besides me was the dress. it was funny how they would sit and debate with me all the time on topics. they live in these 500k houses, driving a car mommy/daddy bought them and the only time they go into Detroit is to sit in the good seats for a Tiger's game they get from dad's company.
