Would you rather have a handicapper win 100 units for the year with no write-ups or 80 units with write-ups?
You want a handicapping tip? Spend as much time getting a good number as you do researching games. Depositing/withdrawing/depositing/withdrawing is a bitch, but I guarantee you will lose less, or win more. I can't guarantee that for any other piece of advice
"There is no such thing as luck, just random fluctuations of probability"
Ha ha ha Lloyd. Trick ?? Guess I would take the 100.

No, not a trick. I am really wondering. People are just in love with write-ups, I think they are a waste of time. We're not talking break even to +20 but would people sacrifice some profit to "learn" from the write-ups or have the joy joy feelings of knowing why the play is being made
Who give a shit about Writes up, waste of time and who gives a shiet if it has a write up and loses.. I'll I care about is Winner or Loser SIMPLE

Yeah I agree with Casey for the most part, If I buy a pick and if there is a writeup I will read it. But if it isnt there no biggie. Much rather have a winner then a writeup if I had a choice.
The answer will depend on the person. Me, I am a learner so I would rather have the write ups, however I don't think I would ever hire a capper for an entire year. Although for 20 units I would like detailed write ups, like 2 paragraphs at least.. Interesting question, I think most will say f the write ups and take the extra 20 units, but I think more long term.
What would you prefer Lloyd??

I read writeups JUST because i like seeing how they attack the bet. However, i usually don't care to write anything up or if i tail there doesnt have to be one. Give me winners.

Fwiw, I obv know the value of getting the best line etc so send out the winners to the clients but I would be happy getting a full write up anytime before, during or after the game.. To hire a decent capper for an entire year will cost you at least 20 units anyway(@$100/per unit..) So if you can learn enough in a year or 2 from reading the write ups etc, you might save yourself some $$$ down the road, just my 2 cents.
Write ups can be good for more than one reason. If you buy picks, and then decide afterwards whether you want to make the bet, that is a REALLY expensive habit and one that will probably break you. I mean, if you are paying $20 for a pick you need to be betting minimum $500/game. It can be good because you can see if someone knows what they're talking about. If they say something like, "Tom Izzo teams are 14-2 ATS after losing by more than 10 points", that's a good piece of information. But when they say things like "The road team has covered the last 3 times, that doesn't mean anything. Look for phrases like, "I don't see them not covering". That means "In my opinion, they will cover. Just my opinion. Just like you have an opinion"
If it's football, and you're releasing it on Wednesday, not as big a deal. But for sports that are played on a daily basis, the 10-15 minutes you take doing a write-up may be the time that line moves. If you have 4 plays, you may release everything 45 later than you would without one. Could lose line value in that time
