no i dont do that. hahaha......but ok....why cant pregame have some kind of contest with a tie breaker?.....best of 100 picks gets a trip to vegas?.....come on! Spread tha word.
Alright man I won't go all SBR and be a complete dick, I know (at least I think) you're asking a legit question. Here is a blue print if you want to get hired some day.
1) Winning picks are not enough. They look for a thorough understanding of sports betting and everything that goes in to it. If you provide winning picks, but show nothing else, you will never be hired.
"Why not?" You're probably asking. Shouldn't a record be all that really counts? After a very large sample size, I completely agree that's all that should count. But you also have to ask yourself why they might hire you, and the number one reason is you will be able to sell picks. People love write-ups, I mean they LOVE write-ups. Even if the write-ups are borderline retarded and have nothing to do with why a team should win, people just eat them up. If you have write-ups (and win of course) a lot more people with visit your threads than if you are just posting picks. A great example is a poster here named SteveBeve. I have no idea if he wins or loses, but everyone here thinks that he does, because he pretty much writes in his own language that makes himself look smarter than everyone else. I'm not saying he does that on purpose, it's just the truth though. In this business more than any other, perception is reality.
2) The next question might be, "why is it important if people visit my thread?" It's important because it shows that people are interested in what you are doing. If someone is interested in what you are doing, they are far more likely to pay for the information if you are one day made a pregame pro. If you don't get any page views, why the hell are they going to make you a pro? If no one is interested, it doesn't matter if you can hit 55%.
3) Be involved in other peoples threads. If you show interest in them, they are more likely to show interest in you, and whats that going to generate? PAGE VIEWS!!!! I'm horrible at this, but I also have no aspirations of ever becoming a pro. If you do, I would recommend it.
GL to you
