Well we're waiting. School was shut down and the stores were all jam packed late yesterday and the weatherman told us to bunker down and prepare for one helluva ice storm. Tick tock, nothing yet. We got blindsided by one a couple of weeks ago and most folks were not prepared. Now we are all ready and the thing might blow by. Guess we will see. Being a weather forecaster here in mid missouri is not quite the same as in Las Vegas.
Well the wife and I saw a pitiful site wednesday night. There is a little local pizza joint we love named Arris's. Better than any national chain I assure you. Anyway we were there eating and Kim Anderson, head coach of the Tigers baseketball team came in with his wife, good grief what a depressing sight. He looked like someone had just shot his dog. Also has aged about 10 years the past two. Yes, these guys make good dough and don't have it very tough with the material things. But that was a sad couple sitting there. That man looked despondent. I don't know Anderson personally. I have known some coaches at Mizzou in the past, Smith, Snyder and countless assistants but I just don't know Kim. But that man was in pain.
Obviously the Chiefs fans are wired to the max. I have not looked this up but I don't think the Chiefs have won a playoff game since the early 90's. I believe that came against the Steelers by the way. I know a lot of local skeptics are spouting off about the Chiefs and choking in the post season and yes, they have struggled. Hell, I am a Packers guy so I mostly just sit and observe as they spar with one another. I have no dog in this battle. But I did mention the freaking Cubs just won the damn world series so that trumps any BS Chiefs jinx they want to crow about. Believe me, if the Cubs can win a world series then anything is possible. Hell, me might get that wall after all. I saw a suggestion on that I loved. Let americans buy a block with their families name on the thing. Sell the blocks. Might not pay for the entire damn thing but it sure would help off set what our neighbors to the south don't. Oh well, I really don't want to turn down that alley in this thread.
Interesting that the Rams hired 30 year old Sean McVay as their new head coach. My opinion is this, somebody has to coach the damn team. Good for him. Good luck too. You are now working for a losing organization and for a total a hole. Make some good dough and gain some quality coaching experience.
That was about the size of it this morning. Weather and the Chiefs pretty much ruled the day.
Good luck this weekend guys.
