A few items caught my eye today. The first came in 1975 when Joe Namath turned down four million bucks to play for Chicago in the World Football League. That was a TON of money at that time. And speaking of dough, it was back in 2003 that a young high school stud named LeBron James signed a deal for 90 million dollars with NIKE for endorsements. Not bad for a graduation present. But the fact is James has worked hard at his profession and is arguably the best NBA player to ever step onto the court.
Now, a free winner. The free plays on here have done better of late than the featured releases. Of course that causes some unrest and flack. I get it. Totally. These things are going to happen and happen to anyone and everyone at certain points. Trust me, I don't take it lightly. Anyway, tonight I like the Rays over the A's. I've been watching this Oakland club and frankly am just not impressed. The A's are 15 games under the .500 mark for a reason. On the flip side the Rays are quietly putting together a solid season. I don't tend to go overboard with trends but the stubborn fact is the Rays have now prevailed in a stellar 11 of their last 14 games at home in the Trop. On the other side the A's have now dropped five of the last six games with Kazmir on the bump. Little chalky but not over the top. I think Tampa is worth a small wager tonight.
On the business side Pregame has some special Memorial Weekend specials. These are innovative and out of the box type promotions offering saving which can amount up to 75%. I am no marketing guru and not the most aggressive when it comes to promotions but I checked these out and the deals are legit. There are real savings involved here for those inclined to invest long term in a capper. Pregame does not stand pat, they are constantly striving to find ways to help the bettor out, both with information and savings on subscriptions. I can candidly say I have been approached by other sites but am proud to call Pregame home.
I might add that I have only my fourth Baseball Triple Star in play. I have had three thus far and won two of the three. Anyway, there was one game tonight that I felt merited stepping up on.
Finally, with it being Memorial Day weekend I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend. I will be in Indy for the 500. Been several times and if you have never attended I strongly encourage you to try it once. The start is beyond description. As for the holiday itself please take a moment to reflect on what it truly is all about. Be grateful to those who have served. My late father was in the Naval Air Corps and my brother Lee was in the special services. Thankfully that stupid war in Vietnam ended just as I graduated to I did not have to get into that mess. But with these insane times we are living in with all the turmoil abroad Memorial weekend seems to take on some added significance. Who truly knows what lies ahead in the near future for the red white and blue.
Okay, that is it for now. Take care guys and best of luck as always with your action.
