Why can't I give away a Rolex?

  • So, yesterday our COO sent me some analytics (what? you want me to get off the forums and look at data?) on Pregame Rewards - specifically how many people have various levels of points.

There are lots of people out there with enough points to cash in for things like iPhones, 500 Pregame Dollars, Big Screen TV's and a few people even have enough points for a Rolex.

Basically, a lot of you have signed up for Pregame Rewards and even have the points, but just aren't using them.

I know I am not a salesman (I tried and failed at a sales gig in high school), but the fact that I can't give this stuff away seems crazy.

    I am thinking that

    1. Members think they lose their point when they redeem them, so they are "saving up" for a great prize (while you can only cash in once at each level you actually never lose points and just keep climbing up the prize ladder. in other words, you can cash in one time at every level)

    2. Our explanations of Rewards haven't been clear

    3. Members aren't interested in the prizes we have listed (I am working on getting the playboy mags and porn site subscriptions you guys suggested, I swear)

    4. ???

What do you guys think?  Why can't I give away a Rolex?

  • I think you hit the nail on the head with #1. I haven't reached level 1 yet but I had already told myself I was just going to keep saving mine up for a "big prize" and not waste my points on the first level prizes. Now that I know that's not how it works I'll be more than happy to take a prize off Pregame's hands! I would definitely try to make this more clear in the rewards info in the future.
  • I, for one, am saving the points for a bigger prize. I'm in no way going to get one this year, but ultimately, meeting the threshold for a Rolex (whatever) would be ideal for many people.

Thanks, Sandlapper!  We look forward to you taking a prize off our hands and will certainly try to make this more clear.

  • Question - What are the points that are under you name when you post?

These are not Pregame Reward points (I don't believe) but was curious what that point total represented - # of posts?

I'm not sure you read her post correctly. She's saying you don't have to save them up because you get to pick a prize at every level. The points don't go away.

This is correct unlike most rewards programs you don't lose your points when you cash in for a Prize. You get your prize and continue to the next level for another prize. Just another reason why pregame.com is the best sports site on the net.

    Hey USA,

The points under your name are Forum Points.  Here is how they work:

HOW DO YOU GET FORUM POINTS?

    Starting a thread = 5 points

    Replying to a thread = 3 points

Every time a thread you started is replied to: 1 point (so the more action your thread generates, the more points you get)

Every time you rate another post: 1 point (read about the value of rating posts)

Every star of rating your post receives: 1 point (so 5 stars equal 5 points)

Every time your post is selected as a favorite: 10 points (read about the value of favorite posts)

Every time you are selected as a favorite poster: 50 points (read about the value of favorite posters)

WHAT ARE FORUM POINTS WORTH TO ME?

To start with, your Forum Points represents the value you have provided to the PregameForum.com community - and that is something to be proud of. But that is not all . . . every point is worth a penny in Pregame Dollars, which you will be able to redeem for premium picks, merchandise, and more!

Rating the quality of content, and letting others know the posters that you like - that is the next generation of the Internet. Please make an effort to participate - if you do, Pregame Forums will be informing & entertaining to our max potential (not to mention the Pregame Dollars you will be accumulating)

Here is an explanation of Pregame Rewards Points:

Pregame Rewards Points: As a Rewards Member, you will also automatically earn Rewards Points totaling 20% of every penny you spend. Rewards Points can be redeemed for a wide selection of the worlds most popular products (such as Rolexes, Big Screen TVs and iPods).  Points are never lost, even after redemption, meaning you keep climbing up the ladder to more expensive and impressive products.  (See complete Prize List)

One important difference between the two is that Pregame Members automatically get Forum Points, but to get Rewards Points you have to become a Rewards Member - fast free and confidential.
