R.J. Bell-  What do you think is the best way to judge a QB?

The thing to keep in mind R.J. is that football is a game of high inter-dependency. No matter how strong a QB's stats. are or how good you think he looks on any give day- non of that is possible without a lot of other positive contributions on successful plays from contributors at the supporting positions. It takes many elements coming together to make for those glamorous stats. that mostly get credited to the QB (IMO). Keep this in mind in however you come to measure their performance.

The way an offensive line is just as much to credit for a running backs rushing title.  Also when they say so and so has only been sacked 10 times all year for example.  That is a credit to the O line not the QB.  Peyton Manning is one of the least sacked QBs year in and year out and his old man can probably scramble better then he can and Archie is in his 60s.

No Limit- that is my point exactly (high inter-dependency). This could also be why from year to year guys don't look so good also, Maybe everything didn't come together as well from all contributors as it may have in previous years. Individuals will always be measured but there has to be some perspective that is kept in mind when measuring performance.Too much credit or too much blame is assigned in many cases.

hand in hand with that NL....passing yards.  i get so tired of hearing about 500 yards a game when the receivers are catching it ten yards out and making the rest of a 60 yard catch on their own merit.  one of the best stats to finally have been counted was YAC

With summer in full swing, the prospect of keeping updated records at this point is mute.  Apologies, I just don't have time
