The NFL can be a humbling experience. Just when your confidence is riding at its peak high you drop a play in which you totally had the wrong side.
That's the case for me here.
I went into this Eagles-Bears game winning 18 of my last 26 regular season/playoff NFL premium plays going back to last season. I was strong on the Bears from the start of the week believing they had the superior coaching, more experienced quarterback and were in a favorable spot. I also thought there was solid line value since the Bears were home and I didn't consider the two teams even yet the spread was just a field goal, which a normal home field often is worth.
I thought the oddsmaker made a big error here since it's so early in the season and their numbers still haven't settled. I liked this game so much I stepped way up to name it my Monday Night Game of the Year.
No excuses. Kudos to the Eagles they proved me terribly wrong. I'm guilty of overrating Jay Cutler and the Bears. The loss is made much worse because of my heavy promotion title.
I'm grateful when I receive congratulations on winners. I accept my medicine when I have bad losers such as this one.
I'm 8-4 now on the NFL season having gone 4-2 each of the first two weeks on my premium and free plays. I'm very confident of another winning season. I just wish I would have nailed this game in particular. It didn't happen. I learn and keep working hard.
Thanks to those who tailed and my apologies for letting you down on this one.
