Lost my First Half MLB Game of Year with the Orioles. They opened an underdog to the Mariners and Wade LeBlanc. The Orioles closed the favorite, but lost.
I thought this was a very strong value play with a major handicapping emphasis on fading LeBlanc. But he pitched well for the second straight time since coming to the Mariners. Baltimore scored two runs after averaging 7.7 runs in their previous 11 games.
Mikeyshep, you're absolutely wrong in what you wrote. I win in football, basketball and hockey - the other sports I do. Baseball is my toughest sport. I've always admitted that. The combination of not lending itself to any situational analysis, a major emphasis on one player (the starting pitcher), the randomness of bullpens and airtight lines make baseball very difficult, far harder to win at than the other sports in my view.
I had won three MLB games in a row (plus 7.5 units) going into this game. I had waited the entire season looking for what I perceived to be an outstanding value play. Those usually don't happen on favorites. The Orioles opened a 'dog. I thought that was wrong so I stepped in and took a shot. My apologies to all those who tailed.
