Thanks guys. I was there and saw it up close and personal. I never make excuses. Most around here know that. But frankly there are some things about that specific game that does at least bear mentioning. Missouri shot just 24.6% from the field AND 3 of 13 on shots the official stats describe as layups. It was the fewest points EVER scored by the Tigers in Mizzou arena. They had played this same Aggies team to within 3 points down in College Station. And here they were getting 4 on their home floor in the final home game. Just one week before they had gone toe to toe and battled it out with Kentucky on this same court. The team had still been playing very hard, nobody had let go of the rope. Russell Woods, the lone senior on senior night and a capable player for them all year, shot 0-7 from the field. The incentive seemed to be there for a big effort considering the team was playing the last home game and likely the last home game coached by Kim Anderson, a coach the kids all respect and like and want to come back. SO, yes, I felt there was much cause for optimism going into last night. I had a tough time predicting that whole game would play out like that.
There it is. Cannot un ring the bell. Some games make little sense, this one fell into that category and I was in the wrong side at the wrong time. I will address one final point. Some person charged that my pick was a homer call. Nothing could be further from the truth. Those who know me also know I have faded Missouri every much as backed them over the year. Oh, and my college football regular season game of the year this past fall was on South Carolina. Their opponent was the Missouri Tigers.
Best of luck moving forward. Enjoy the rest of your day guys.
