We often talk about how even winning handicappers can have shockingly bad runs . . . that's not just theory - sometimes it is reality. But as long as the handicapper is professional and understands that such a run does not change his fundamental edge, then such a run will soon be nothing but a bad memory.
The real problem is if the handicapper losses confidence, changes his approach, and losses his edge - all over a bad run that will mathematically happen to every winning handicapper occasionally.
