Well the axe was finally and mercilessly dropped on Kim Anderson as head coach of the Missouri Tigers basketball team. I wish him all the best moving forward because he truly is a good man. This was not a team ideal to depend on to save your job. Effort was there, and that surely is a credit to him but the talent wasn't. Hard to coach up sub par division one players to win. Try hard and compete a lot, he proved he could do that. But winning was a stretch for this bunch. Kim was dealt a crooked hand but dealt with it. Some of the sanctions and problems with the NCAA left by prior head coach Frank Haith were not even disclosed to him until after he had accepted the position. The AD at the time Mike Alden knew he was heading out the door himself so threw Anderson to the wolves. Not shocking considering he had botched every other basketball coaching decision in his time here. The man could have had both Bill Self or Dana Altman but no, he knew better. He left a mess behind him and Kim Anderson was left to prop up and dismal situation. Oh I could go on and on with this whole subject but am not going to betray confidences. Bottom line is Kim Anderson had about as much chance here as George Custer did that morning at the little big horn.
Well, that was the primary talk at breakfast. The subject of Mark Cuban and Russell Westbrook popped up. What is up with that? Cuban seems to have a thing for Westbrook. Some kind of history there I don't know about? Also the Knicks ruffled some feathers sunday when they pulled the plug on music for the first half. Not sure what the thinking was behind that call but leave it to the Knicks to f up the most basic of things.
Some spring fever setting in with baseball just around the corner. Baseball is looming and march madness is upon us. Good time for sports fans all around.
