Always great to get a fee meal. Well today I am celebrating another birthday so my buddies picked up my check. What a great way to start the day. If you ever come to Columbia go eat breakfast just once at the Broadway diner and order the stretch. If you like eggs, chili, hashbrowns and onions and can deal with it all together you will be in heaven.
We're proud of one of our local kids around here. Columbia's own J'Den Cox of local Hickman high school and Mizzou won the bronze medal at the Olympics. He earned his medal in free style wrestling. He's 21 years old and beat a kid from Cuba in the bronze medal match. Good stuff.
Football is counting down and locals are getting anxious. Mizzou opens up at West Virginia and Barry Odom will make his debut as head coach of the Tigers. And the line is dropping. Now down to 9.5 at many shops. As for the Chiefs they blew one in Los Angeles the other night. Not one of Aaron Murray's prouder moments. It is weird for many here watching the Rams play out there. Many younger fans only knew the St Louis Rams. They were loyal to them despite the struggles most years. Yes, they won a super bowl with Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk and company with the fastest show on turf but the fact is most years that club struggled mightily. It's funny because when the Rams left Los Angeles they could not draw flies. Now they are welcomed back like heroes. Time will tell. The stubborn fact is this is still the Rams. You can't make silk out of a sows ear. I have zero personal agenda here, none. I am, as most know, a die hard Packers guy. I cannot help but question just how loyal the Los Angeles fan base will be when the Rams play, well, Rams football over an extended time.
That is pretty much it for this morning. That was the talk. I would be curious to hear if any of you guys have supported a team and had them pull the rug out on you and leave. Any old Colts or Oilers fans maybe? Do you still pull for that team or did you go the other way? Just curious.
Good luck today with your action guys. Enjoy the games.
